ALP Astrology is an astrology and educational center located on Pattukkottai–Muthupet Road, Mudalcheri, Tamil Nadu, India. It specializes in the Akshaya Lagna Paddhati (ALP), a distinctive astrological system developed by Dr. S. Pothuvudaimoorthy. The business integrates traditional Indian astrology with a structured, progressive methodology that emphasizes the evolving role of the Lagna (Ascendant) in prediction.
Founding and Philosophy
Founded by Dr. S. Pothuvudaimoorthy and Smt. Arularasi Pothuvudaimoorthy, ALP Astrology’s philosophy centers on applying ancient astrological principles to modern life. The Akshaya Lagna Paddhati redefines horoscope interpretation by treating the Lagna as a moving point, advancing through the zodiac over time. This approach aims to deliver more precise, time-specific predictions than conventional Dasa–Bukthi methods.
Services and Offerings
The establishment provides a range of astrological consultations and training programs, including ALP horoscope reading, marriage compatibility assessment (Thirumana Porutham), Vastu guidance, and prashna (question-based) astrology. It also publishes instructional books and offers proprietary software and a mobile application to help learners and practitioners implement the ALP method effectively.
Educational Mission
ALP Astrology operates with a mission to make astrological education accessible to every household. Through its basic and advanced courses offered in Tamil and other languages, it trains aspiring astrologers in ethical consultation practices and integrates astrology with psychology and self-development. The founders envision creating a global network of trained ALP astrologers and lifelong learners who uphold disciplined and credible astrological study.
Community and Recognition
Dr. Pothuvudaimoorthy’s innovations and teaching have earned recognition in Tamil Nadu media and among astrology scholars. ALP Astrology regularly organizes workshops, cultural events, and certification ceremonies in Pattukkottai and beyond, fostering a collaborative community of astrologers and enthusiasts dedicated to continuing the tradition of scientifically informed spiritual practice.
