Established in 2004, it combines a modern optical showroom with diagnostic and ophthalmic services, serving as a key community provider in the Thanjavur district’s eye-health sector.
Background and Services
Eye Care Opticals functions both as an eyewear retailer and an eye-care center. The business offers sight testing, spectacle-frame fitting, and contact-lens dispensing, along with polarized and branded sunglass sales from companies such as Fastrack, Polaroid, Crizal, and Essilor. Its in-house Eye Care Eye Hospital, led by ophthalmic surgeon Dr. S. Kasiviswanathan, provides diagnostic procedures—refraction, tonometry, pachymetry, and glaucoma evaluation—and outpatient surgical care.
Equipment and Facilities
The clinic is equipped with an auto-refractometer, non-contact and applanation tonometers, gonioscopic lenses, a pachymeter for corneal-thickness measurement, digital eye-imaging systems, and an auto-lensometer for spectacle-lens verification. These instruments enable comprehensive vision testing and precision lens fitting on-site.
